Iraca Marketplace
The Iraca Marketplace is a network of co-branded storefronts — farmers markets, regional export directories, and specialty food hubs — that give your products a public presence without needing to build your own e-commerce site. You list products you already manage in Iraca, control your pricing and availability, and receive buyer inquiries directly.
How it works
Each marketplace is a curated storefront focused on a specific community (a farmers market association, an export directory, a specialty food hub). Buyers — retailers, importers, distributors, or consumers — browse listings and send inquiries. Transactions happen directly between you and the buyer; Iraca handles the discovery layer.
Joining a marketplace
- Go to Settings → Marketplaces.
- Click Join a Marketplace to see available storefronts.
- Click Join next to the one you want — your membership starts as Pending Review.
- The marketplace administrator reviews your application and approves or declines it.
- Once approved, your status changes to Active and you can start adding listings.
You can be a member of multiple marketplaces simultaneously.
Adding your first listing
A listing is a public-facing product card. It can have different branding, pricing, and a description tailored to the marketplace audience — it does not change anything in your internal product catalog.
- From Settings → Marketplaces, find your active marketplace and click Manage Listings.
- Click Add Listing.
- Choose the product from your catalog and fill in:
- Title — the name buyers will see (can differ from your internal product name)
- Description — a buyer-facing description
- Retail price (B2C) and/or Wholesale price (B2B) depending on the marketplace mode
- Unit — e.g. "per case", "per lb"
- Cottage Food Compliant — check this if the product qualifies under your state's cottage food law (relevant on farmers market storefronts)
- Click Save. The listing is visible on the storefront immediately once it's marked Available.
To temporarily hide a listing without deleting it, click the eye icon to toggle its availability.
Editing your vendor profile
Some marketplaces ask vendors to fill in a profile with information buyers want to see — certifications, production capacity, export experience, contact details. These fields vary by marketplace and are set by the marketplace operator.
- From Settings → Marketplaces, click Edit Profile on an active membership.
- Fill in each field. A small icon next to each field shows who can see it:
- 🟢 Public — visible to anyone on the storefront
- 🔵 Registered buyers — visible only to buyers who have created a free account
- 🔒 Gated — visible to buyers on a paid plan (set by the marketplace operator)
- Click Save Profile.
Handling buyer inquiries
When a buyer contacts you through a listing, an inquiry lands in your Inquiries tab under Settings → Marketplaces.
Each inquiry shows the buyer's name, email, company (if provided), message, and what quantity they are interested in. Click any inquiry to expand it and see the full details.
You can mark an inquiry as:
- Read — you have seen it
- Responded — you have replied (Iraca does not send a reply for you; email the buyer directly at the address shown)
- Closed — the conversation is complete
What buyers see
Buyers on a marketplace storefront can browse listings without creating an account. Depending on the marketplace mode:
- Retail (B2C) price is shown to everyone.
- Wholesale (B2B) price is shown only to buyers who register a free account and are verified as a business buyer.
- Profile fields marked Registered or Gated show a lock icon to unregistered visitors, prompting them to create an account.
Visibility and the storefront
Your listings appear on the marketplace storefront as long as:
- Your membership is Active
- The listing is marked Available
Listings marked as Unavailable are hidden from buyers but preserved so you can re-enable them later.
Cottage food badge
If you have the Cottage Food Compliance add-on active, listings you mark as Cottage Food Compliant display a badge on the storefront, giving buyers confidence about the product's production status.
Frequently asked questions
Does Iraca process payments between me and buyers? No. The marketplace is inquiry-based. You and the buyer agree on terms and handle payment directly. Iraca is not a party to the transaction.
Can I list the same product on multiple marketplaces? Yes. Each listing is independent — you can have different titles, descriptions, and prices for the same product across different storefronts.
Who can see my wholesale price? Only buyers who have registered a free account on the marketplace and are verified as a business buyer. Unverified visitors and guest browsers cannot see B2B pricing.
What if I want to stop selling on a marketplace? You can mark all your listings Unavailable to hide them immediately. To formally leave, contact the marketplace administrator.
